Introducing my new line-up!
Melodeon - Robyn Wallace is an accomplished melodeon player and percussionist, originally from Rochdale. Influenced by playing in brass bands as a child, as well as the playing of leading English box-players, they teach both music and clog in Sheffield, and play squeezebox in the Bellamira Ceilidh Band. They've played melodeon and danced for clog, rapper and morris teams across the country since they began clog dancing at 12 years old. Robyn also recently joined the board at EFDSS where they've been excited to bring a young, queer, working-class voice to the organisation.
Fiddle/vocals - Five-string fiddle player Rosie Butler Hall is a thoughtful and intricate player and writer of English Folk Music with European, Irish and Scottish musical influences. Her roots are in music for ceilidhs and social dances, and she has a wealth of experience as a performer, having played in the English Folk scene for 18 years, appearing at festivals across the UK and around the world. Rosie is also part of The English Fiddle Ensemble, a quartet of fiddle players bringing joyous harmonies and striking rhythms to traditional English Tunes.
Rehearsals have been going really well and Nicola Beazley and I are really excited to perform with these two brilliant musicians! Look out for some festival announcements soon but please give Robyn and Rosie some love as they join the band <3
